Safety and security for every child in our care is a high priority for our church. To provide a safe environment, we have a Child Protection Policy. Every child, nursery age through kindergarten age, participates in our security system. There are two ways to have security for receiving and releasing children, i.e Picture ID or two-part paper form. The two-part paper form is always available at every preschool class.
Arrival
Upon arrival in the preschool area, the person leaving the child must show their Picture ID or complete the two-part paper form before leaving the child in our care. Every child has a name sticker affixed to his/her back upon arrival. The teacher checks the parent’s written instructions for caring for the child.
Pick-up
The person picking up a child must show his/her Picture ID or give the yellow copy of the two-part paper security form. Children will only be released to authorized persons as described on the security form(s).
Pagers
Vibrating pagers are available for any parent in case the parent is needed while the child is in our care.
Health Policy
Preschool parents are asked to help us follow our Good Health Guidelines. If any of the following signs of illness are present, a child should not be placed in the nursery or classroom: fever in the 24 hours prior to church time, discharge in or around the eyes, ANY green or yellow nasal discharge, vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, questionable rash, complaints of stomachache, frequent coughing, lethargy. In addition, any child being treated with an antibiotic must have been taking the antibiotic for at least 24 hours prior to coming to the preschool or nursery classroom.
Background Checks
All of our volunteers and paid workers are required to complete a background check, in accordance with our Child Protection Policy.
